New Spell: Impaling Frost

Sorcerer, Wizard 3rd-level Evocation Casting Time: 1 action Range: 100 feet Components: V, S, M (a needle and some water) Duration: Instantaneous You summon cold, frosty mist in an 100-foot long by 5-foot wide line. Any creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. If they fail, they take 5d6 Cold damage and 3d6 Piercing damage. If they succeed, they take 4d6 Cold damage. Open flames are snuffed out by this mist, and small bodies of water freeze for 1 minute. A large body of water, such as a lake, forms a path in the shape of the mist for 30 seconds. At higher levels. For every slot above 3rd-level, you can add a 20-foot by 5-foot increment at any point in the spell's length. You can add a length and create a new line stemming from the main line or add the line at the end of the main line to increase its range.

I like the utility of this spell in non-damage use cases. Very good
