Super-Simple Philly Cheesesteaks

  • 1 Green pepper, sliced
  • 1 Small onion, sliced
  • 1 lb. Thinly sliced roast beef, torn into pieces
  • 9 Slices provolone cheese
  • Oil for sautéing
  • 6 Hoagie rolls, split, toasted if desired


  • Sauté green pepper and onion in oil over medium heat until soft. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over high heat.
  • Working in batches if necessary, add roast beef to the skillet and sauté, stirring frequently, until it starts to turn crispy.
  • Add the green peppers and onions and mix with the roast beef.
  • Lower the heat to medium and layer the slices of provolone cheese on top of the mixture, leaving until partially melted.
  • Split meat, veggie, and cheese mixture evenly between the hoagie rolls and serve.
